Swanseabayjobs is an initiative to promote employment opportunities for people who have faced particular barriers, such as isolation, homelessness, health problems etc, and who have been out of work for many years.
Cyrenians Cymru’s services are aimed at those on the margins of society, and in recent years we have been developing partnerships with local and national organisations. With the significant development that is taking place in the Swansea Bay area, we hope to forge links that can create real opportunities for disadvantaged people, and to support them in making the most of these opportunities.
In due course, employment and volunteering vacancies will be posted on this site, which will be accessible throughout the Cyrenians’ services and beyond.
We are actively seeking partnerships with local businesses, the statutory sector and the third sector to develop this initiative. The work of the Cyrenians to date has been all about helping people to overcome the barriers that can accompany poverty; homelessness, poor health, addictions, isolation and low skills. We now have ground-breaking projects that are making a real difference in all these areas.
The next stage for the charity is to further develop our projects to help people into
employment. South-west Wales is undergoing significant change and regeneration, and
we want the benefits of this to be available to people in our projects, as much as they
are to the wider public.
To this end, we aim to develop further skills training, work initiatives, partnerships and links with local employers to create sustainable employment opportunities for people who have been out of work for years, or perhaps have never been in work. Of course, for this to be successful ongoing support is essential.
Decades of experience in providing support to some of the most vulnerable in the community will stand us in good stead to ensure that people are given help every step of the way
